COVID-19: Sanwo-Olu shuts down schools, clubs indefinitely
Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered immediate shut down of schools, night clubs, banning concerts and carnivals indefinitely in the state in a bid to curb a second wave of coronavirus.
Mr. Sanwo-Olu, in a statement on Friday, attributed spike in the number of coronavirus in Lagos State to disregard for safety protocols amongst citizens, urging everyone to adhere strictly to safety guidelines to curb a second wave of coronavirus in the state.
While civil servants from Grade Level 14 and below are directed to work from home from December 21 – January 7, 2021, Mr. Sanwo-olu said concerts, carnival are prohibited in the state, ordering night clubs, schools to shut down indefinitely.
Businesses, markets, offices and shops are to strictly enforce “No Mask, No Entry”, while worship centers are to ensure that their services do not exceed two hours with a maximum population of 50 person, Mr. Sanwo-Olu said.
